Onsite Safety Technician – Crew Lead

Job Summary: Provides direction, instructions and guidance to On-Site Technicians in their crew for the purposes of achieving company goals.

General Accountabilities

  • Preforms all functions of an On-site Technician with the addition of the following:
    • Provides help to management by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to crew members.
    • Motivates crew members from a peer-to-peer standpoint.
    • Helps to coach and mentor members of the crew, as well as provide on-the-job training and new-hire orientation to new crew members.
    • Responsible for seeing that members of the crew become proficient in the specific areas needed to perform the assigned tasks for the On-site Technician position.
    • Crew Leads provide day-to-day operational guidance on technical skills and tasks to the crew as needed.
    • Responsible for ensuring guard shacks are always fully stocked. Reports deficiency in supplies, and broken equipment to Supervisor on a regular basis.
    • Provides support to crew and management in ensuring all shifts are filled in a timely manner. Communicates effectively with Supervisor when shifts are not able to be filled.
    • Ensures guard shacks are kept clean, and maintained professionally and orderly per company policy, to include safety equipment, and all completed JSAs, checklists, and sign-in forms are readily available.
    • Communicates all issues to Supervisor immediately.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Previous On-site Technician experience required.

  • Must have good communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) and have confidence to tell someone that they may not perform work if conditions or procedures are not safe. Frequent contact with customer and job site personnel so communication and interpersonal skills are critical to success.
  • Ability to quickly become proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment. Must be able to work outdoors in an industrial environment.

  • Physical demands while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop and bend. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment Industrial or shop environment. Frequently exposed to wet, humid, outside weather conditions and vibration. Works in some customer environments during later part of training. May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, gas releases, or fire. The noise level in work environment is usually moderate.

Field Technician

Compliance Services is looking for an experienced safety-oriented Field Technician, located in the areas listed above.  The selected individual will need to rig-up/service and rig-down drilling and completion locations with gas detection and other safety services that Compliance Services supplies during operations. The primary function of this position is to service instruments and safety units in the field.

A field technician is required to monitor locations and provide coverage of operating and maintaining these systems and provide concurrent responsibility for the operation of safety equipment and emergency response procedures. To fulfill these requirements, the Field Technician’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate and maintain the H2S detection system
  • Operate and maintain the safety equipment
  • Conduct detailed visual inspections and system functional tests of various systems and equipment, reporting any deficiencies and corrective action recommendations to the customer
  • Assists others with inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling and testing shop equipment, SCBA’s, manifolds, regulators and hoses.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications:

  • H2S training
  • PEC Safeland

Work week details: Basic schedule is based on normal work-week, with on-call duties for evenings, weekends, and holidays due to 24/7 operational tempo.

Onsite Safety Technician

Compliance Services is looking for an experienced, safety-oriented H2S instrument technician, located in the areas listed above to work on active drilling and completion locations where there is a potential for, or an anticipated release of, Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) gas, during operations. The primary function of this position is to be an onsite presence in case of an emergency, as well as to service instruments in the field.

An H2S Safety Technician is required to monitor locations, provide coverage of operating and maintaining these systems, and provide concurrent responsibility for the operation of safety equipment, and emergency response procedures. To fulfill these requirements, the Onsite Safety Technician’s duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate and maintain the H2S detection system
  • Conduct detailed visual inspections and system functional tests of various systems and equipment, reporting any deficiencies and corrective action recommendations to the customer
  • Assists others with inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling and testing shop equipment, SCBA’s, manifolds, regulators and hoses.
